Josh Piché is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer whose soulful blend of blues, country, and roots music reflects a career shaped by rich musical communities. Born and raised in Winnipeg, he honed his craft under the mentorship of top local musicians before moving to Toronto.
He gained national attention as the guitarist and musical director for award-winning blues/soul group Irene Torres & The Sugar Devils, co-writing two albums, touring internationally, and performing at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. His work with the band led to performances alongside artists such as Gino Vannelli, Jon Cleary, and Downchild Blues Band, with studio collaborations including including the American organ legend Ike Stubblefield and electric bassist/TV actor Cornell Williams.
His versatility has made him a go-to guitarist for acts including Julian Taylor, Brett Kissel (appearing at the Canadian Country Music Awards), Sandra Bouza, Angela Saini, Ty Wilson, and McKenzie Leigh Meyer.
Piché’s 2021 self-titled EP received airplay on Jazz FM91 and CBC Radio and featured an acclaimed roster of musicians, including Steve Pelletier, Don Pham, Eddy Ruyter, Mitch Lewis, Pat Rush, and guest vocalist Irene Torres.
As a dedicated member of Toronto’s live music community, he is also a founding member of Canopy Music Theatre, an outdoor performance initiative created during the pandemic that earned recognition from CBC, BlogTO, and NOW Magazine’s “Best Live Music Venue.”
