The ToneKnob series is our affordable line of effects, designed to be simple to use, with just one knob to twist until you hit your sweetspot. Despite their simplicity, these plugins are sophisticated under the hood, built with all our experience in emulating high-end studio analog hardware.
Our lineup of studio effects with simple controls wouldn’t be complete without a modulation effect—and not just any modulation effect. As the name suggests, TriMod combines and seamlessly blends three essential modulation effects into one sophisticated tool.
Inside, you’ll find Flanger, Chorus, and Phaser—but that’s not how we thought about TriMod! This is a precisely tuned algorithm, designed to smoothly transition between the iconic sounds you know from the greatest guitar legends. However, TriMod isn’t just for guitarists. Try it on synths, vocals, or even bass guitar!
With ToneKnob TriMod, you can easily dial in the sounds that defined not just guitar history but also the tones of the ’70s, iconic ’80s, grungy ’90s, and beyond. Whether you’re looking for the dark chorus of Metallica’s “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)”, Van Halen’s dramatic flanger in “Ain’t Talkin’ ’Bout Love”, or the psychedelic phaser from Pink Floyd’s legendary albums, all these sounds are here—just one knob turn away.
If you want a subtle modulation with gentle movement, perfect for adding a touch of depth and space to your signal, this is the range where you want to operate.
As you turn the knob, the speed and depth of modulation increase, resulting in a fuller sound. We took inspiration from the legendary modulation effects by EHX, transporting you straight to the grunge sound of the ’90s and compelling you to play some of Cobain’s riffs.
The Flanger character gradually fades and gives way to a vintage chorus. We designed this range to be rich and lush, filling the space with its vintage shimmer. Here you’ll find all the classic chorus tones, whether it’s Andy Summers, Eddie Van Halen, Tame Impala, or Mike Stern.
Around here, you will enter a full vintage chorus territory – sparkling in the highs and adding depth to chords and single notes alike.
The chorus intensifies and transitions into a multi-layered Quad Chorus—rich texture and wide stereo spread.
Quad Chorus at its peak, ideal for epic sections like “Is This Love” by Whitesnake, or the unmistakable Allan Holdsworth tone—what we see as the pinnacle of modulation.
The chorus fades as the phaser takes over. At 90%, it’s a full phaser with traces of chorus—yes, we couldn’t resist, and this instantly reminded us of that psychedelic sound from “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” by Pink Floyd.
A wild vintage chorus combined with Quad Chorus and Phaser, creating an intensely rich and thick modulation. This one’s for the bold, giving you a “crazy knob” tone reminiscent of Scofield’s experimental runs.
The 100% Wet function in plugins means that only the effected sound (modulated signal) goes to the plugin output, while the original, “dry”, i.e., your instrument/signal, is completely removed. The 100% Wet function is key in parallel signal processing, where the effected (wet) sound is separated from the original (dry) signal on a separate aux channel. This allows for easy mixing of the clean and effected signals, even for multiple tracks simultaneously.
With TriMod, you get all the iconic modulation sounds in one plugin. You can get the tones from Nirvana, The Police, Pink Floyd, 80s metal and rock and all the way to crazy unique modulation. We got inspired by classic sounds heard on so many recordings, and packed them into one simple to use, compact solution.
Intuitive one-knob control allows quick and intuitive workflow, that lets you use your ears – just turn the knob and dial in the modulation you want
All accross the range of the Modulation knobs, there are smooth transitions between individual modulation effects. You can even achieve blends of modulation effect that give you a unique sound.
